Hardin-Simmons Theatre Department to host Starlight Extravaganza
Enjoy a Dinner Cabaret while supporting HSU students!
Join the Hardin-Simmons University College of Arts and Media on Saturday, December 7 for the Starlight Extravaganza.
Inspired by the famous Ellen’s Stardust Diner, this ultimate dinner and show experience will feature a three-course meal along with Broadway hits performed by HSU theatre students – all in support of student travel opportunities.
“We are blessed at HSU to give our students several opportunities to gain real-world experiences through travel,” says Dr. Victoria Spangler, associate professor of theatre. “By attending this event, you’re directly supporting a student’s education while also enjoying a memorable evening.”
This intimate evening promises to be filled with energy and excitement. Each table will be uniquely decorated to represent a different musical, and each bite will be paired with Broadway magic. Guests will enjoy a musical journey from classics such as “White Christmas” to Broadway blockbusters like “Wicked” and “Guys and Dolls”.
But it’s not just about the show — it’s about making memories! HSU’s very own singing waitstaff will serve you, and every moment supports the growth of the next generation of theatre talent. Proceeds raised by the Straight Extravaganza will support the HSU Theatre 2026 Travel Fund to New York City. This trip is filled with Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, workshops, and conversations for students to gain hands-on learning experiences.
